TotalBarber Academy
TotalBarber Academy is a barbering school in Shoreditch, London, running full-time, part-time and short courses. Its main full-time routes are a 10-week NVQ Level 2 in Barbering and a 12-week Ultra Barber course, both leading to an NVQ Level 2 plus the academy’s own PABD diploma, and an eight-week fast-track TotalBarber Diploma that is assessed practically with no written exam. Full-time classes run Monday to Friday, 11am to 4.30pm.
Shorter intensive courses run over four, three, two or one week and are aimed at beginners and at working professionals such as hairdressers and make-up artists. A 20-week Saturday route leads to the NVQ Level 2 part-time, and a three-week fast-track NVQ is open to barbers who already have experience. Specialist classes cover shaving and straight-razor work over one day and fading over two days. The academy states its teaching is around 80 per cent hands-on with real clients, in small groups taught by practising barbers.
