Tri-City Barber College

Tri-City Barber College is on South Preston Street in Louisville, Kentucky, and appears on the Kentucky Board of Barbering’s published list of approved barber colleges. Its barbering course requires 1,500 clock hours for graduation, roughly nine months and 188 days of attendance, and covers haircutting, shaving, permanent waving, shampooing and massage alongside anatomy, bacteriology, sanitation, business practice and Kentucky barber law.

Full-time students attend Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., and part-time students Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. A shortened crossover course is available to licensed cosmetologists in both full-time and part-time formats. Graduates sit the apprentice examination at the state board’s Louisville offices. The college is approved for veterans’ education benefits and accepts vocational rehabilitation funding.
