Winston Salem Barber School (Winston Salem Campus)
Winston Salem Barber School’s main campus is on Silas Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The North Carolina Board of Barber and Electrolysis Examiners lists the school as a licensed barber school in Forsyth County; the board separately licenses the school’s Greensboro location as Winston Salem Barber School #2. Both campuses run the same Barber and Stylist program.
The program consists of 1,528 clock hours over 44 weeks and uses the Milady Standard Barbering text. The curriculum is divided into five parts covering professional foundations and life skills; general sciences such as infection control, anatomy, chemistry, electricity, and skin and hair properties; hair and scalp treatment, shaving, and men’s haircutting; women’s haircutting, chemical texture services and hair coloring; and business practice and licensure preparation. Clinic floor work runs throughout the 44 weeks, and the program ends with a practical exam mirroring the state board apprentice examination.
