KCI Institute – Hair Cutting & Barbering, Kampala
KCI Institute teaches from Dolphin Plaza on Gayaza Road at Mulago Kubiri in Kampala, and its hair cutting and barbering course runs three to six months depending on the specialisation and depth you choose.
Content covers scissor and clipper cutting, texturising, styling, basic barbering, men’s hair cutting, beard and moustache shaping and traditional grooming, with hands-on practice on both live models and mannequins. What makes it flexible is the range of study routes: a two-year certificate, a one-year certificate, or practical short courses, with sessions available mornings, afternoons, full days, weekends or online. Few providers in the region accommodate that many patterns.
The application fee is 15 US dollars for Ugandans, roughly 50,000 shillings, or 40 dollars for non-Ugandans. Tuition itself is not published. The page says only that fees are affordable with flexible payment plans, which is not enough to plan around, so get a figure in writing. No DIT assessment or UBTEB accreditation is stated for this course, so the certificate is the institute’s own. Note the institute trades under two names, with its domain and email under a different brand from the one on the page.
