The Sheffield School of Health & Beauty

The Sheffield School of Health and Beauty operates under the White Rose Beauty Colleges name and now sits within Learning Curve Group, running as the Sheffield Hair and Beauty Academy on Leopold Street. Barbering is offered through the group’s academy network, with two Level 2 routes listed as available in Sheffield: an NVQ Diploma in Barbering at Level 2, running 26 to 30 weeks, and a Level 2 Certificate in Barbering, running 26 to 32 weeks.

Content covers health and safety, client consultation, shampooing and conditioning, cutting men’s hair using basic techniques, cutting and shaping facial hair, shaving, drying and finishing, reception duties and working in the hair industry. Training takes place in a working salon rather than a classroom. Applicants must be 16 or over and meet UK or EU residency requirements, and successful candidates attend an interview at the academy; bursary support is available for eligible 16 to 19 year olds. Awarding bodies named include VTCT and AIM Qualifications.
